I started this blog to document the process and adventure of identifying, acquiring and driving a classic BMW through Europe and finally ship it home. I will continue to update anything relative to the car as time goes on. This will hopefully help others who are thinking about going through a similar process to import a car. Feel free to contact me if you’d like any help or a co-pilot for such a trip; I’d do it again in a second!
I have passionate affinity for iconic and interesting European cars. Current owner of a 1986 Citroen 2CV, 1971 Fiat 500L, 1996 Porsche 911 and of course, a 1966 BMW 1800.

I just found your blog on the BAT import-export survey. I’m in the process of finding a car to import from Japan (older than 25 years), and I could find no information at all on importing a car into the US! All I found was a million requotes from all the government websites. You are the only person I could find that actually imported a car, and went to pick it up at the port themselves! The info helped me a lot, especially since I want to do the same, and at the Baltimore port. Would you be able to give me your email address so I could pick your brain a little bit? Thanks,
